Debate – Assange’s Arbitrary Detention: The UN has acted in favor of whistleblower and Wikileaks founder Julian Assange

Debate - Assange's Arbitrary DetentionThe UN has acted in favor of whistleblower and Wikileaks founder Julian Assange. The arbitrary lack of freedom violates “the most important instruments of human rights in the world” is how the UN sees it, after a UN panel found that Assange, who took refuge in Ecuador’s London embassy almost four years ago, was “arbitrarily detained”. In this edition of the debate, we’ll be asking the guests whether they agree with the UN point of view, and also whether they think Assange is a traitor or hero, a ruling which has angered both Sweden and the UK.
